mission list and twelve B-17 Flying Fortresses flown between
March 27th thru August 26th, 1944 out of Horham Airfield, England.

Lt. Ernest Anders Erickson photographed the 334th Squadron officer barracks at Horham Airfield in England here in early 1944, soon after arriving to begin his combat flying. He arrived in February of 1944 after a difficult North Atlantic journey that began in Langley, Virginia, that took them up to New York then Maine and Greenland, Iceland and a fortunate landing at Prestwick, Scotland. From there he was later assigned to the 95th Bomb Group stationed at Horham Airfield in England.

Below is a modern day photo of the 334th Squadron Officers Barracks of the 95th. It's a sharp looking image taken recently by the 95th's Phil Samponaro of Brownsville, Texas in 2018.

It's quite incredible what the folk at Horham have accomplished over the last years at the Airfield and the many buildings making up Station 119. They have been restored or rebuilt beautifully and that classic 1940s feel lives on at Horham.
