My father was in the Air Corps from 1942 to 1945 and served with the 95th Bomb Group out of Horham Airfield in England from February through October 1944. Also below is a photograph of Ernest Anders receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1944 from Colonel Karl Truesdell Jr. of the 8th Air Force. Ernest flew thirty five missions and piloted twelve B-17s during his eight months flying combat out of Horham with the 334th Squadron.
