The father of my Uncle Floyd Nick Boutrous shown here, Attas (Ghattas) Fares Boutrous Sr. stands up front holding bible. Floyd became my uncle when he wisely married my Aunt Dian Marcella Erickson in 1961 in Bismarck, North Dakota. Floyd always said he was the luckiest man, and I agree. A photograph was taken in 1900 in Sioux City, Iowa. Fares Boutrous Abu Dakken sits on the right and is Attas Senior's father, Floyd's grandfather. The gentleman sitting on the left is Fares Nicola Attiyeh and he is the younger brother of Miriam Nicola Attiyeh, who is Fares Boutrous Abu Dakken's wife and Uncle Floyd's grandmother. The young men behind are Fares's younger brothers, Salameh, Salom and Salem.
The photograph is the only known image of Fares Boutrous Abu Dakken. I hope to find others.
The story of the Boutrous - Nicolas shown here, all born in Ain Arab, Lebonon, Syria is truly
fascinating and I plan to post other images of the these families as I continue this project.
I feel fortunate that my cousin Michael Boutrous, Floyd's son, has helped out with this family
history and provided a lot of the imagery and written information. Thanks Mike. |
