My favorite photograph of my uncle Floyd Nick Boutrous taken in Long Beach, California in 1957 during the Miss Universe Contest. Floyd seen here in his hotel room looking cool and relaxed, sitting on a couch smiling, browsing through some Polaroids.

Floyd's company, Sparkle Dentifrice sponsored gals for the Miss Universe pageants, during the 1950s. At the same time, in tandem with that, Floyd ran the Miss North Dakota competition.

On July 21st, 1961, Floyd married my aunt Dian Marcella Erickson in Mandan, ND at the Havana Club, and they left after to honeymoon in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple returned to Bismarck in August, and began to raise a family. Floyd was a real estate broker (Floyd Boutrous Realty) and managed the family property in Bismarck and Mandan, ND. Dian and Floyd had five sons, and presently have six grandchildren.
