My great grandparents Gertrude 'Gerda' (Miljander) and Anders Nelson's headstone at Riverview near Wilton in Maclean County, North Dakota.

Below is a one of a kind Nelson family portrait taken one hundred years ago this year. This image of the family on farm near Regan, North Dakota in 1918 is an unique image that brings together the complete Nelson family. Just as the war in Europe raged on, Sture in the Navy uniform was very soon off to serve.

The photograph comes from my grandmother Clara's photo album, the original being in black and white. The first three generations of Nelson's to immigrate from Sweden to the Dakotas in 1903 are present.

Clara wrote along the side of the image the name of every parent, brother, aunt, uncle and cousin you see here. I truly thank her for that. Makes all this far easier than guessing or never knowing.
