My cousin Ronny Erickson walking down Main Street at 2nd Avenue in Bismarck, North Dakota in 1939. From 1889 to 2017 the corner of 2nd and Main in Bismarck North Dakota has not changed all that much. A small town in 1889 with wood buildings, dirt streets and horses for transportation. Then onto a growing city of asphalt and concrete with 19th & 20th century buildings. In-between those years this photo of Ronny Erickson walking down Main in the last years of the Depression with the 1930s cars and advertising signs sets a nice stage to make this a classic photograph.
