My great grandfather Anders Alfred Erickson operating a Steam (Engine) Timber Cutting / Hauling Tractor on the Erickson family farm in Sweden in 1895, a half mile north of the town of Torpshammer. Anders Alfred Erickson and great grandmother Christine Brita Kristina (Olson) ran the farm with their children: Andy (Anders) Sebran Filimon Erickson, Vera (Elvira) Edla Alfrid (Gallagher) Erickson, Ernest (Ernst) Julius Alfred Erickson, my Grandfather Frank (Frans) Gustaf Severin Erickson, Abbie (Ebba) Angnis Kristina (Lincoln) Erickson and Helmer Erick Alof Erickson. Ernest Julius and Helmer Erickson were born in Torpshammer. Frank, Abbie, Vera and Andy were born in Sundsvall, Sweden. The family immigrated to the states in 1903 and settled on a farm near Regan, North Dakota. My uncle Alphonse "Al' Alkallar Erickson was born in Bismarck, North Dakota in 1905. In a classic 1910 photograph (below) taken by Helmer Erickson at his 'Erickson Studio' in Wilton, North Dakota are his parents Christine and Anders Erickson's Family. left to right - top row: Ernest Julius Alfred, Andy Anders Sebran Filimon, my Grandfather Frank Gustaf Severin and Helmer Erick Olaf Erickson.
