left to right: Sheikh Assaif returned to his homeland and contributed money for water, electric, and telephone systems in Ain-Arab, as well as for a road construction that served the village. He was involved in funds set forth for an addition to the local schoolhouse. The government of Lebanon awarded him with the medal of honor. Sheikh Assaif Nassif Attiyeh was born on December 15th, 1892 in Ain Arab, Lebanon, Syria and passed in May of 1986 in Los Angeles, California. Assaif's wife, Alexandria 'Skundara' Kellel was born in 1894 also in Ain Arab. The last photograph here was taken in front of the Dakota Territory Marshall's Office in Bismarck, North Dakota during one of my trips to visit the family. Fortunate to have my five cousins together in this shot. They are the sons of my Aunt Dian Marcella (Erickson) and my Uncle Floyd Nick Boutrous. And I am proud to say here are the six grandsons of Attas Fares Sr. and Della Nassif Boutrous and Clara Amelia (Nelson) and Frank Severin Erickson.
