Taking the train to the city of Locarno, Switzerland one can sit back and enjoy the incredible Swiss countryside streaming by the window. With the Alps ever present in the near distance, you take a bus ride from Locarno and eventually get off at the beautiful village of Someo along the Maggia River.

This is where the Zimmerli family cottage is located, yet a bit of a journey left to actually get to the stone houses that make up Boscheia. The family get-away lays in the mountains in the county of Ticino, the Italian part of Switzerland.

There are two ways to get up the mountain, one is by helicopter and the other, a more traditional way. That is a 2 hour hike up 1200 meters above sea level to the secluded cottages. At Boscheia, you will find peace and quiet and incredible views of the Swiss landscapes spread out for dozens of kilometers in all directions.
