My Great Great Grandparents Olaf Petter Andersson and Karin Goransdotter shown here in an 1875 photography studio portrait. They are the parents of my Great Grandmother Christine Brita Kristina (Olofsdotter - Andersson) Erickson.

Karin was born on May 20th, 1835 in Hassela (Gävleborgs län, Hälsingland), Sweden and passed on December 15th, 1915 in Tuna, Västernorrland, Sweden.

Olaf was born on June 17th, 1836 in Stöde, Västernorrland, Sweden and passed on December 1st, 1911 in Tuna, Västernorrland, Sweden.

Olof and Karin have two sons, Anders Petter 'Ante' Sundin and Erik Olaf Sundin and three daughters:

1. Christine Brita Kristina (Olofsdotter - Andersson) Erickson was born on December 28th, 1864 and immigrated to North Dakota in 1903 with her husband Anders Alfred Erickson who was born on May 21st, 1860. On May 12th, 1903 the Erickson family left Liverpool, England and sailed west over the Atlantic to America. On May 21st, 1903 the family arrived in New York City. After nine days at sea, the S.S. Aurania ported at Ellis Island. The Erickson's would make their way to North Dakota, to join Anders brother, Fredrick Erickson and his family, already living in Slaughter, ND. By 1904 Chrstine and Anders started up a farm in Regan, ND.

2. Katarina Olivia (Olofsdotter - Andersson) Backlund was born on April 15th, 1870 in Stöde, Västernorrland, Sweden. Katarina was married to Isak Olof (Johan) Baçklund who was born on November 8th, 1870 in Sweden and passed Teuton, Manitoba, Canada in 1946. Katrina passed in Teuton, Manitoba, Canada in 1952. Katarina and Isak have eight children:

Sadie (Sara) was born in 1902
John (Yokam) was born in 1906
Oliver (Agda) was born in 1906
Nels (Olof) and Isak were born in 1906
Karl was born in 1908
Eric was born in 1911 in Saskatchewan, Canada.

On October 13th, 1910 Katarina and Isak and seven of their eight children departed from Västernorrland for Liverpool, England. From there they immigrated to Quebec, Canada, where they arrived on November 11th, 1910. Katarina and Isak lived in Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada, in 1916 and in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada in 1921.

3. Sigrid Elisabet (Olofsdotter - Andersson) born January 16th, 1874 in Stöde Västernorrlands län, Medelpad, Sweden and passed on November 16th, 1956 in Sundsvalle, Sweden. Sigrid was married to Mathias Forsman, who was born on April 25th, 1872, in Njurunda, Västernorrland, Sweden. Sigrid and Mathias had one son, Olof Sigfrid Andersson who was born on May 29th, 1896, in Attmar, Västernorrland, Sweden. Olof was married to Sonja A.M. Andersson on May 28th, 1928, in Klara, Stockholm, Sweden.

Thanks to my cousin Solveig Lundquist for the recent photographs I was very fortunate to receive in the last couple weeks. Most I had never seen before and I was excited to be able to add them to the 'Family Archive Project' website. Solveig lives in Tova and Sundsvall, Sweden and is the granddaughter of my Great Aunt Sigrid Elisabet (Olofsdotter - Andersson).
