My uncle Ernest Julius Erickson in La Grande, Oregon when he was a deputy along with my grandfather Frank on the Oregon Railroad in the Spring through the Fall of 1917. Since I was a kid my favorite photograph, I called "The Shootist", existed in my mind as legend. http://markerickson.com/Family_History/Frank_Erickson/r3-1.html Have always thought that it would be a great movie poster for a "great" western film.
