Many people have inspired me over the years, but, for me, the true beginning as a painter
was growing up with my family's art collection. Paintings and sculptures by artists in my
family opened my eyes to the possibility of becoming a painter.
Here are examples of some of my favorite works by my mother, Bernice Erickson; my grandmother, Blanche Hesslein; my father, Ernest Erickson; and great-grandfather, Benjamin Nathan. Also included are collaborations with a few good friends of mine. The paintings presented were created in New York City; Provincetown, Massachusetts; Hollywood and Venice, California, and span from 1866 to 2005. Growing up with many of these paintings was my inspiration. In my early years, it moved me in a direction I could not resist : to paint. |
