My uncle Andy (Anders) Sebran Filimon Erickson at sixteen years of age sitting for a portrait at his brother Helmer's "Erickson Studio" in Wilton, North Dakota 1913.

Andy was born in Sweden and lived most of his life in the Dakotas. During World War I Andy was a member of the 101st Aero Squadron in the Air Corps and served on the Western Front in France in 1918.

The 101st Aero Squadron of the Air Corps was established on August 20, 1917 and part of the "American Expeditionary Force" serving in France during World War I. The 101st existed from February 1919 through June 1919 and primarily was involved with Daylight Bombardment. Assigned to 2nd Day Bombardment Group, the 101st was finally demobilized on June 30, 1919.
