Ghattas called his five sons 'steps' as they went from tallest to shortest in a complete natural order. Soon after this photo was taken, three of the five boys went off to serve in the war in Europe and never saw their Father Ghattas again, as he passed away in ?Bismarck in February of 1944.

In the 2nd photograph below, are the five Boutrous Brothers in 1946 standing out front of the Boutrous Family 'Corner Grocery' in Bismarck, North Dakota.

The full name of the Boutrous elders were Delleh 'Della' binto Jirji Nassif Boutous Attiyeh and Ghattas Fares Boutrous Abu Dakken. The surname of Abu Dakken was dropped by Ghattas in the early 1900s after he immigrated to the States. Ghattas was born in Ain Arab, Lebanon, Syria on February 12th, 1882. Delleh was born in Ain Arab on February 17th, 1892.

Delleh and Ghattas were married on September 19th, 1910 in Sioux City, Iowa. Ghattas first opened 'The Fair Store' in 1917. Later the family opened the Boutrous Family 'Corner Grocery' on January 1st, 1929. He ran the 'Corner Grocery' until he passed in Bismarck on January 12th, 1944. Delleh and Family continued to operate the 'Corner Grocery.' Delleh passed on June 30th, 1985 in Bismarck.


Delleh and Ghattas had eight children, three daughters and five sons. The Boutrous daughters:


The Boutrous sons:

> Thomas (Tom) Boutrous was a Doctor and was born in Sioux City, Iowa on October 30th, 1912 and passed on May 20th, 1974 in Detroit, Michigan.
> George Boutrous was a Chiropractor and was born in Sioux City, Iowa on March 5th, 1915 and passed in Phoenix, Arizona on April 4th, 1995.
> Floyd Nick Nassif Boutrous was a Real Estate Developer and was born in Bismarck on January 30th, 1917 and passed in Bismarck on March 2nd, 2010.
> Theodore (Ted) Boutrous was an Attorney and was born in Bismarck on July 3rd, 1919 and passed in Bismarck on October 28th, 1996.
> James (Jimmie) Melad Boutrous was a Real Estate Broker and was born in Bismarck on January 3rd, 1922 and passed in Fort Collins, Colorado on September 11th, 2014.

The last photograph below was taken in front of the Dakota Territory Marshall's Office in Bismarck. Shown here are the six grandsons of Della (Nassif) and Attas Fares Boutrous, and Clara Amelia (Nelson) and Frank Gustaf Severin (Erssson-Eriksson) Erickson.
